Pomelo known as citrus maxima in scientific terms is a fruit that is part of the citrus family. This fruit look the same as a grapefruit but the Pomelo has a larger size than the average grapefruit. The fruit on the outside looks like a pear, and on the inside the flesh has variety of colors varying from pink, red-pink, green-yellowish, greenish and some are yellowish in color. The Pomelo has a distinct acidic and bitter taste to its flesh. The fruit is a great fruit for making your body feel cooler.

This fruit has a large number of medicinal properties. Pomelo has the many benefits to the human system, Pomelo has the properties to enhance the human immune system because the fruit has high contents of vitamin C. The fruit is said to contain 600% of the vitamin c content that is required for the human body. In most south east Asian countries this fruit is said to be a fruit that is used as a quick immune booster. Consuming this fruit may help fight off infections, cold, coughs, fevers, as well as viral and bacterial infections. Pomelo is also known as a fruit that has high fiber contents which will help in digestion. The fruit is said to contain 25% of the daily minimum requirement for the human body. Fiber helps stimulate gastric juices in the stomach, this will enhance the process of breaking down protein and other complex foods into smaller chains and simpler molecules to keep the digestive system functioning at a high. Pomelo is also known to have an elevated level of potassium which is very good for bone health and blood pressure. This fruit can provide the human body with 37% of the daily potassium intake.
